OUR BRAND OF FOOTBALLiTouch brand; It is a brainchild of Zimbabwean coach based in the UK Lord Morris Kakunguwo. He innovated this type of football to improve and progress the African football standards to excellence.
Lord Morris talks about universal type of football where all players can play different type of positions on the field of play.
As an experienced coach with AFC Aldermaston in the United Kingdom, Lord Morris believes his new style of football would be the blueprint of the Warriors and Zimbabwe football.
He currently spends time training coaches in his academy and others in Nigeria on how to train children on iTouch techniques.
So i asked him what iTouch was all about?
He said "i" stands for individual talent of a player which is the strength of the iTouch football when playing in a team.
iTouch has 5 components of football which coaches use everyday but cannot distinguish or interpret to players in a way to gain success on the pitch.
Lord Morris has been studying Pepe Guadiola, Jose Mourinho and Sir Alex Ferguson for more than five years. He has gone to the extend of buying their books and he told me are his football bibles.
iTouch is clearly linked with technology as our game is developed technically to suit modern tactics. The touch on the brand links with the smartphones with touch screens and how often people touch the screen when using the phone is also how often players must touch the ball during passage of play.
iTouch comes with zones like in any strategy, it divides and defines the roles of players before they kick the ball.
iTouch has its own principles that are prioritised when players have the ball or without the ball.
Lord Morris emphasised the importance of Temperature playing at high tempo, with intensity, pressing high and putting the opposition under pressure.
Currently Lord Morris said iTouch was used in the Zimbabwe Soccer Premier League and the team benefited by surviving relegation. I would not mention the club for confidentiality purposes.
iTouch brings in passage of play and patterns of attacking which players will adopt when trained.
When these principles are followed by coaches, their teams will outplay the opposition.
iTouch also highlights the importance of Anaconda tactics which coaches use but without knowing the benefits.
iTouch brings in a style and philosophy of play mistaken from Spanish Tiki Taka because of possession but does not emphasise on possession without an attacking purpose or prowess.
Lord Morris feels because its his academy's dossier and blueprint can only be shared by our iTouch specialist coaches as each age group comes with different characteristics.
I hope football made in Zimbabwe for the football farmers will benefit the continent as a whole.
The last team to benefit from the coaching techniques was Dzveya FC a village team in Dotito District which has over the years outplayed all teams because of the iTouch seeds sowed by Lord Morris.
iTouch values the goalkeeper as the last man in defence and decision maker in terms of distribution and key to success. Over the years keepers have been overlooked but iTouch empowers the goalkeepers as they start and reduce speed of play.
